Grooming Agreement

1. We prioritise your pet's wellbeing. We do not associate grooming with pain and we avoid procedures that cause discomfort.
2. Grooming may take a minimum of five hours or more, depending on the pet's needs and cooperation.
3. We do not demat. A shave down is considered dematting and will incur an additional fee.
4. If your pet cannot get into the tub or onto the table independently, I may need to call for pickup to preserve my strength.
5. If your pet shows aggression, we reserve the right to stop the session and send the pet home. The grooming fee will still be charged.
6. Additional fees apply for unneutered pets, pets in heat, or if sedation is required, which must be done before arrival.
7. An additional fee applies for pickup and drop-off. If the pet is not collected within 15 minutes of completion, a per-minute late fee applies.
8. One-on-one grooming coaching sessions are available for an additional fee, plus the cost of the groom. To observe the groom, please arrange it in advance.
9. Discounts are offered case by case.
10. We pre-book 8 to 12 months ahead, and we encourage flexible rebooking with 24 hours' notice.
11. Upon booking with Shanti & Me LLC, you agree to regular grooming on a 2, 4, 6, or 8 week schedule. Shanti & Me does not offer seasonal grooming with one to two year shave downs, because we believe in regular grooming for the wellbeing of the companion animal. Consent to groom comes from the animal as well, not from the guardian alone.

Grooming Rates

Full groom, $93 to $103, priced by your dog's size and coat. Small and medium dogs.

Permission and Veterinary Care

• Shanti & Me, referred to here as the groomer, has my permission to do whatever it judges appropriate for the wellbeing of my dog.
• If my pet becomes ill or is injured, I authorise the groomer to seek veterinary care, and I accept full financial responsibility for that care.

Exemptions from Liability

• The groomer will not be held responsible for clipper burn, minor lacerations, eye tribulations, or skin irritations resulting from grooming.
• Nor will the groomer be held responsible for stressful effects upon geriatric dogs, including seizures or death.
• The groomer is not liable for anything that occurs once your dog leaves, or for after-grooming effects of dematting or clipping, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or neglected coat, including itchiness, skin redness, or self-inflicted irritation from excessive rubbing.
• Time and cost associated with dematting are unpredictable and depend on the condition of the coat. I agree to pay whatever fees result from dematting. Whether a dog is matted is at the sole determination of the groomer.
• The groomer may refuse to groom any animal for the health and safety of the groomer and the animal.
• A soft muzzle may be used, or service discontinued or refused, if the groomer determines an animal presents an unsafe condition, including behavior issues, health problems, fleas, parasites, or aggression.
• Any pet found to be carrying fleas or ticks will be treated at the client's expense.
• I will tell the groomer before grooming if my dog has ever bitten a person or another dog, or has any aggressive tendencies whatsoever.
• I am solely liable for any harm, injury, or property damage caused by my dog, including all medical costs if my pet bites anyone on the premises.

Booking and Ownership Affirmation

• I affirm that I have the legal right to place this animal in the care of a groomer.
• Because of the nature of this business, a first appointment with Shanti & Me requires going onto a rotating schedule pre-booked 8 months to a year in advance.
• Flexible rescheduling is available with 24 hours' notice.
• A credit card is kept on file for no-shows and missed appointments.
• I have read, understand, and agree to the policies set out in this form.
